What ya giving up?!!!!

So then, lent is almost upon us!

Just wondered if any of you are planning to give anything up?

My original plan was to challenge you to give up all your addictions - like curry, dms, marmite, etc, but then realised that this would involve me giving up haribo and sweets and I don't think that I have the willpower to see this through!!!

So I just wondered if any of you were feeling any more disciplined than me at this time or are you with me and taking the easier option?!

(Have just had a thought....maybe I could give up curry, champ, marmite AND drinking tea!!!!!!)

Lots of love xxx

(PS - Getting up early again is NOT fun...)

am giving up buying any clothes or similar things as i seem to have got horribly addicted... il walk into a shop to look for shorts and come out with a dress, legwarmers (yes i love them!), 2 jumpers and who knows what else! its dangerous for my bank balance! xx

give up being small? or supporting spurs?

Previous sermons and the visiting speaker last Sunday morning highlighted for me that we shouldn't just give something up for the sake of it, to 'be like everyone else' but embrace the history of lent. Addictions are a good place to start and maybe something that will really challenge you. Harribo is an obvious one but may not be 'the one' for you PJ.

(P.S. I think Aaron should give up blogging and texting for lent!)

Nope not this year!! Gave up tea for Lent last year, and Rob the Lodge was fascinated to see if I would hold out.....And I did!
Now.........nope, not giving up chocolate either, so I'm being really unspiritual for 6 weeks!!

I am giving up my cup of Tea, I am addicted to the caffine boost first thing in the morning so I am going to try and do without.

OK Deb, it's FEBRUARY - that's winter here in England - hence why would you go into a shop to look for shorts?!!! But i am with you on the whole shopping thing, I really don't think that I could give that up! Again we are scarily alike!! (As well as both being such girlie girls :)!!!)
I am tempted to give up supporting spurs as they are the most frustrating team EVER to support, but give up texting oooh that's a good one!!! I personally could never do that - I would rather give up sweets!!!!

Debbie's got a challenging one there, getting up early is so tough. Chris Moyles helps a bit though in the mornings.

Just to bring you back down to eath Ju..... beating Everton away is not a major achievement....even Villa managed that! Have you managed to stick to your sacrifices so far? My mum bought me some creme eggs but Im giving up chocolate so brought them to stoke for my brother...so hard watching them eating the eggs when I want some!

I am hoping that the random one will still be able to enter into these little debates with mr eb even though he will be somewhere at the other end of the world! It makes me smile that neither of them will let the other have the last word!!

Ok - it's not a very fair competition now is it mr eb? You will definately get the last word over the random one as he's on a plane somewhere!!!!!
